Not a natural business person
Feb. 2nd, 2011 11:50 amWindows has an option to get more disk space by compressing the data, and I wondered what happened to Stac, the people who invented that. According to Wikipedia:
management elected to take the unusual step of selling Stac's remaining technology assets... and returning its remaining cash to shareholders before dissolving. Now why is that unusual? It sounds to me like a sensible and normal thing to do. The life of the company is over, so let's go and do something else. As this is unusual, it must be that companies normally carry on ad infinitum, or are bought or merged, or go bust.
