Standing on the platform at Clapham Junction this morning were some school girls on a day off. Their accents suggested that their parents paid a lot of money for their education, and their outfits didn't look cheap. They were discussing their gap year plans. I was still wearing my high-vis jacket from cycling.
The train stopped and I was right next to the doors, but as they opened, the girls walked straight in front of me. Wow! I was too surprised to be annoyed. I assume that they thought I was a workman because of the jacket, and so with pleasant irony, my high visibility jacket had made me invisible.
