Two air conditioning units blow air at me when I'm at work. Usually one is blowing hot and the other cold. A third system extracts the air they produce and blows it out of the building. All three make a constant noise.
I could do without sitting in a draught all day. I could do without being cold in summer. I could do with some silence.
Everywhere I've worked this has been an issue. The number of days where air conditioning is actually needed in England is ridiculously small, but offices have it on all the time, and it never works properly.
But it's worse when you're shopping. In summer, you turn up in your shirt sleeves and the shops are freezing cold. In winter you have a coat on but the shops are now hot. Are they trying to stop me buying things?
At home we put the heating on in winter, open the windows in summer, and change clothes accordingly. Simple. Cheap. Quiet. Comfortable.
