Ambidext-mouse
Jul. 4th, 2012 02:56 pmI'm right handed, but on a desktop computer I use the mouse with my left hand. The buttons are swapped so I still click with my index finger. I first tried it when my right hand hurt once from mousing too much.
Doing many things left-handed is hard for me. I can't write sensibly left handed, not even though my right wrist was in plaster for a few weeks as a child. But using a mouse left-handed is easy.
Occasionally other people want to show me stuff on my computer, and they ask if they can drive. I say "It's a left handed mouse - try using it with your left hand." Universally, they ignore what I've said, pick the mouse up and put it on the other side of the keyboard, and then struggle with the button swapping.
I don't get it. Why don't people even try with their left hand?
